Ramsau am Dachstein introduces first Deep Snow Certificate
The goal for the mountain rescue team and the tourism organization of Ramsau am Dachstein is the safety of guests as well as locals through the winter. After the big success of the climbing trail certificate in the summer, the tourism organization of Ramsau am Dachstein introduces the deep snow certificate this winter.
This winter season 2015/16 the tourism organization Ramsau provides courses for beginners in terms of deep snow skiing aside the slopes. A skilled and trained mountain ski guide will show the participants at a one-day course, what to do when ski touring or skiing beside slopes. The program provides material knowledge (skies, pelt, LVS-equipment, backpack and much more), the correct use of LVS-equipment, meteorology, snow knowledge, impart snow profile, avalanche risk assessment, personal tips from the mountain- and ski guide, performance of site, introduction of the right technique and the experts give you advise how to act, if something has happened.
To ensure that all participants have the same initial situation, the equipment for that day will be provided. At the end of the day there will be either a slight downhill run to the valley or the first deep snow descent, away from slopes and ski trails depending on the group.

Teenagers and adults: Every Tuesday beginners course incl. rental equipment (you will get Ski’s, LVS equipment, please bring your own poles and shoes) and deep snow certificate (from 14 years).
